Are you wondering what adhkar after salah to recite? This blog post will give you the six adhkar to recite after every prayer!
Adhkar After Salah
Following each prayer, Muslims are encouraged to recite specific supplications, known as Adhkar, which are prayers and praises that strengthen the bond between the servant and Allah, and help fortify faith within the heart. In this article, we’ll explore the steps of Adhkar after Salah, providing the supplications in Arabic, with the transliteration and English explanation.
1. Seeking Forgiveness x 3
- Transliteration: “Astaghfirullah wa atubu ilayh”
- English: “I seek forgiveness from Allah and repent to Him.”
This phrase expresses the act of asking for pardon and forgiveness from Allah, and turning back to Him in repentance for any sins and mistakes committed. Repeat 3 times after prayer.
2. Acknowledging Allah as the Source of Peace
- Transliteration: “Allahumma antas-salam wa minkas-salam”
- English: “O Allah, You are Peace and from You comes peace.”
This supplication reminds us that Allah is the source of all peace, asking Him to fill our lives with peace and tranquility.
3. The Declaration of Faith
- English: “There is no deity except Allah alone; He has no partners. To Him belongs the dominion, and to Him belongs the praise, and He is over all things competent. O Allah, there is no preventer of what You have given, and no giver of what You have prevented, and the might of the mighty person is of no use against You.”
This praise renews the faith in monotheism, acknowledging Allah’s omnipotence and sovereignty over everything.
4. Reiterating the Testimony of Faith and Praise
- English: “There is no deity except Allah alone; He has no partners. To Him belongs the kingdom, and to Him belongs the praise, and He is over all things competent. There is no power and no strength except with Allah. There is no deity except Allah, and we worship none but Him. To Him belongs the blessing, and to Him belongs the favour, and to Him belongs the beautiful praise. There is no deity except Allah, dedicating religion to Him even if the disbelievers dislike it.”
5. Glorification, Praise, and Magnification
- Transliteration: “33 Subhanallah, 33 Alhamdulillah, 33 Allahu Akbar.
- English: “33 times ‘Glory be to Allah’, 33 times ‘Praise be to Allah’, 33 times ‘Allah is the greatest.’ And there is no deity except Allah alone; He has no partners. To Him belongs the kingdom, and to Him belongs the praise, and He is over all things competent.”
These praises help enhance feelings of gratitude and appreciation towards Allah for His blessings and constantly being mindful of Allah in all states.
6. Ayat al-Kursi
Finally, reciting Ayat al-Kursi, one of the greatest verses of the Qur’an, offers protection and brings safety and security from all harm to the reciter.
